The KDA is saddened to notify our members of the passing of Dr. Steven F. Twietmeyer (Wichita). Dr. Twietmeyer practiced in Cheney and Wichita and was very involved in organized dentistry throughout his dental career. He served as an officer of the KDA (Secretary) for two terms in 2001-03. In addition, Dr. Twietmeyer was a longstanding Chairperson of the KDA Council on Children’s Dental Health Month for which he was awarded the KDA’s Harry M. Klenda Award for Outstanding Council Service in 2004. Prior to serving in leadership with the KDA, Dr. Twietmeyer was a member of the Wichita District Dental Society Executive Board, serving as the WDDS President in 2000-01.

In his comments when accepting the Klenda Award in 2004, Dr. Twietmeyer said, “I love the profession of dentistry and am so thankful to have been blessed to participate in organized dentistry and have been able to give back to the profession and community which has made me happy, successful and satisfied.” May you rest in peace.
