Every February, the Kansas Dental Association participates in the National Children’s Dental Health Month (NCDHM) campaign.

This month-long national health observance brings together thousands of dedicated dental professionals, healthcare providers, and educators to promote the benefits of good dental health to children, their caregivers, teachers, and more.

Winners will be announce on April 7th, after the KDA Annual Meeting where dentists will vote for their favorite class project.

All third-grade students in Kansas are invited to participate! 

All entries are due:

Friday, March 31st, 2025!

Help your students create a class project that centers oral health. Enter your project for a chance to win!

1st Place Prize: a $500 gift card

Contest Rules

• Be Creative! Integrate art, technology, science, music, PE, or any of your other favorite subjects to show us how you're promoting good dental health practices in the 3rd grade classroom! Feel free to include other school staff.

• Be bold! Make a thirty (30) to sixty (60) second video production or slide show!

• Be you! Your creativity will be on display on the KDA web site and social media pages! Visit ksdental.org for contest updates, and don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and X.

Drawing Contest: $50 student prize, $100 teacher prize!

Contest Rules

  • This contest is open to all Third (3rd) grade students enrolled in the 2024-2025 school year across the state of Kansas.
  • Each student must submit an original drawing about oral health.
  • Entries are to be submitted on the drawing entry form on this page (or mailed to your school).
  • Drawings may be done in pencil, marker, watercolor, or crayon. Don’t forget to include the student's name, teacher's name and phone number, and school name on the bottom of the entry form.
  • Entries must be submitted no later than Friday, March 31, 2025.

How to Win ;)

  • Ten (10) student winners throughout the state + their teachers, also ten (10). One (1) student winner and their teacher will be picked from each KDA district. 
  • Mail your students' drawings to the appropriate address.

Selection Process:

Each KDA Dental District Chairperson will choose the top entry from their area. The KDA will then send a $50 gift card to the winning students to be spent on whatever they like! As a “thank you” for including dental health in your curriculum, we will also send a $100 gift card to the teacher of the winning student to buy classroom supplies or help with the cost of activities!

Winners will be notified on or around late March. Regretfully, no entries can be returned. Entries may be used for promotional purposes on the KDA web site and social media pages.
