KDA Awards $500 Prize to 2019 Class Project Contest Winner
On Wednesday, April 17, 2019, KDA staff members Niki Sadler and Kylie Fleck-Talley were in attendance for an all-school assembly at Westside Elementary School in Pittsburg, KS.
The KDA presented Krisanna Graham, Paul Hanney, School Nurse Peggy Jones, and their third grade students with the first place prize for their winning Children’s Dental Health Month Class Project Contest entry, “Westside Dental Health Tips." (watch now)
At 10:45 AM, students, teachers, and staff members filled the school gymnasium.
When prompted by KDA Director of Operations, Niki Sadler, students recited dental health facts about brushing, flossing, and healthy drinks and snacks.
KDA staff then awarded Mrs. Graham with a commemorative plaque from the KDA to honor the students’ outstanding work, as well as a $500 Visa gift card to be used on classroom activities or supplies.
Cheers and applause then echoed through out the gymnasium as students of all ages congratulated the third graders on a job well done.
The second grade students expressed that they were excited to compete in the KDA Drawing Contest and Class Project Contest next year.
The third grade students at Westswide Elementary demonstrated outstanding creativity and truly made learning about dental health fun, which is what the KDA’s Class Project Contest is all about!
