SquireDr. Charles Squire was named the 2013 “Outstanding Dentist” at the Oral Health Kansas Annual Meeting in Overland Park.

Dr. Squire is a periodontist who retired from his private practice in Wichita in 2012 after decades of dedicated service. In addition to serving in leadership roles at the Kansas Dental Association and American Dental Association, he currently serves on the Kansas Dental Board and as an examiner of the Western Regional Dental Examination Board.

Dr. Squire is not only a skilled and respected clinician, but also a giving and dedicated volunteer who truly embraces the philosophy of giving back to his state and his community. As such, he is perhaps best known for his years of service to the Kansas Donated Dental Services Program, which is a program that connects people with disabilities in need of dental services with dentists who volunteer to provide the needed treatment. He was one of the founding members of the Kansas organization and served as the board president for eight years. He was especially effective in keeping the program functioning when legislative appropriations for the small administrative costs were not made in 2010-2012. Because of his passion and exemplary effort, many Kansans with disabilities received the vitally needed dental care during this trying time.
