Dentists across the state are working hard in their communities to make a difference. Waters-Davidson Family Dentistry, the dental practice of Dr. Nevin Waters and his daughter, Dr. Lindsay Davidson, are supporting Socks in September, a Kansas City effort to help provide socks to those who cannot afford them.
“During these tough economic times, the need for donations has escalated,” the practice says on its Facebook page. “We need your help! If you would like to donate a pair of new socks to Socks In September, you can drop them off at our office anytime during the rest of the month. Your donation will make a difference in the lives of many people here in our community!”
“Seven years ago one single individual mentioned that a local organization had a need for socks. The idea of “Socks in September” was born,” the KC Networking Group says. “In the past seven years through the generosity of hundreds, we have collected over 30,000 pairs of socks.”
Last year the organization donated to: TLC for Children and Families, Cross-lines, Center of Grace Clothing Closet, Family English program for preschoolers thru JCCC and Johnson County Christmas Bureau
