McGill Named Harry M. Klenda Award Winner

Gene McGillGene McGill was awarded the 2013 Kansas Dental Association’s Harry M. Klenda Award for Outstanding Council and Committee Service.

McGill, a member of the 5th District, serves as Chairman of the KDA’s Council on Annual Sessions and Events.

“Gene has faithfully served the Kansas Dental Association for many years over his career,” said Dr. Craig Herre, President of the Kansas Dental Association.  “He is a tireless worker who can always be counted on to help when there is a need.”

McGill has been a member of organized dentistry throughout his career.  He has served as the Editor of the Journal of the Kansas Dental Association since 2000.  He has been on several committees and Councils at the state level including Peer Review and Local Arrangements.  Gene also was recently selected to serve on the board of the Kansas Dental Charitable Foundation.

“As the chair for the KDA Council on Annual Session and Events, Gene has been involved in strategic planning to improve and innovate the meeting,” said Herre.  “We can always trust that Gene will say yes when asked to provide service and leadership and will continue to do so in the future.”
