KDA TAILGATER Begins Historic Day of K-State Football
The anticipation of the #4 ranked Kansas State Wildcats and the #15 ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders seemed to give this year’s KDA TAILGATER a different atmosphere.
By 1:45, still forty-five minutes before kickoff, the KDA’s tailgate tent was a ghost town and most of the fifty-five attendees were already headed into the stadium for the pre-game.
At three hours before kickoff, the KDA opened it’s tailgate party and soon after, members began arriving for food and beverages under a bright blue sky that quickly warmed the air. After eating, a few beverages and conversation, the crowd witnessed a 55-24 victory that would launch K-State to a #2 ranking in the BCS.

Dr. Chuck Squire settles a friendly bet from the KU – K-State game earlier this season with Dr. Bert Oettmeier. Squire, a longtime KU fan, was decked in Wildcat purple for the game.
