indicates members contentLast week the Kansas Dental Association was notified by a Fiserv Health Dental network provider that their Social Security number was listed on the Fiserv website at the following location: www.fiservhealthbenefits.com/kasten/home/preferredDental.jsp. The website inadvertantely listed approximately forty Social Security numbers of Kansas and Oklahoma dentists in addition to approximately 190 tax-payer identification numbers. The SS# and TID# have since been removed.
Based upon this knowledge, we feel an obligation to inform our members (particularly those who are network providers) that this confidential information was mistakenly placed online in a non-secure location and that you should take steps to mitigate the possibility of identity theft. We have sent a letter to Fiserv asking that they agree to provide any participating dentist with a credit report and that we receive a direct contact person in Fiserv that will handle any calls. In addition, we have asked that they notify their participants directly of this error.
We will provide more information to you when we hear back from Fiserv.
