Donated Dental Services

| DentaCheques is the easiest
way to support access to dental care. Considering
the no-questions-asked $120 invoice credit from
Patterson, Henry Schein, Benco and many others, it
costs the purchaser essentially nothing. After the
dozens of free goods available without qualifying
purchases, the $149 cover price is more than
recouped, while 93 cents of every dollar raised is
used to support the Donated Dental Services (DDS)
program. You can’t lose! |

Kansas Donated Dental Services (DDS) is a project initiated by the
National Foundation for Dentistry for the Handicapped and the Kansas
Dental Association. Its purpose is to provide free, comprehensive
care for people who are permanently disabled, elderly and
medically compromised who are unable to afford dental care. The
Kansas dentists volunteering for DDS donated services in their own
offices. Dental laboratories contribute services.
The following words of gratitude are from just two of the thank-you
notes that DDS patients have sent.
"I can smile now. Thank you from the bottom
of my heart."
"I have been in pain for years. Thank you for
your time and help. I have a fresh start"
To date, 360 dentists have provided over
$5,965,350 worth of free dental treatment for 2311 disabled patients.
Over 115 dental laboratories have contributed $648,852 in services.
A coordinator,Terri Jowett, determines eligibility of applicants,
matches patients with dentists, monitors each person's progress, and
coordinates laboratory services.
Revenue realized for the sale of DentaCheques funds the expansion of the
DDS program. Nationally, 12,463 dentists and 3394 dental labs in
fifty states volunteer in this important humanitarian initiative.
To date, the DDS program has enabled 70,387 needy disabled, elderly and
medically compromised individuals to benefit from $102 million
charitable care.
