Deadlocked Wellington City Council fails to pass ordinance to put fluoridation issue on November ballot

Wellington City voters will not be voting this November whether or not to continue the fluoridation of municipal water.
A bill that would have required fluoridated communities to put a warning in the water bills falsely stating that water fluoridation lowers IQ in children was tabled by a 10-2 vote in the House Health and Human Services Committee today, effectively killing the measure.

Today is the hearing on HB2372 in the House Health and Human Services Committee. The KDA and other health associations and health care providers will tell the committee just how important community water fluoridation is to reducing tooth decay and saving families and tax payers money.
