All on 4: A New Prosthetic Option

Course Handout

Dr. William Cusack

Many of our patients are becoming aware of new prosthetic options offering immediate results in the form of a fixed bridge supported by four or more dental implants.  In response to this, many clinicians want to be able to offer the surgical or prothetic phase of this treatment in their own practice.

This “All on 4” technique has shown good long term success, with very impressive results reported from many areas of the world.  With proper coordination among the surgeon, restorative dentist, and the laboratory, this treatment can be very rewarding for both the clinicians and the patient.

This presentation will clearly show in detail the surgical, prosthetic, and laboratory steps to implement this treatment into your practice.

The objective of this presentation is to discuss:

  •  Case selection for the “All on 4” technique
  •  The concept of the combination defect
  • Coordination between the surgeon and the restorative dentist
  • Communication with the dental laboratory
  • Implant parts and materials
  • Consultation with the patient
  • How to grow this prosthetic option in your practice
  • Important surgical considerations for good results
  • Sequence of steps involved in the prosthetic conversion
  • Repairing of the temporary and permanent prosthesis
